Even with a hidden fastener system, there are a few areas where, due to the limitations of the hidden fastening tool or system, you can’t hide the fastener. Some might consider this the “Persian Flaw” of their deck, but if you want perfection–a smooth, beautiful fastener-free deck surface–you’ll want to check out the new FastenMaster video, the TigerClaw TC-G, and the Cortex FastenMaster for decks and trim.

The FastenMaster video is only four minutes long and shows you how the TigerClaw TC-G and the Cortex FastenMaster work together to hide every fastener on the deck surface.

For the field of the deck, the TC-G Fastener works great. But when it comes to the first board, the last board, perimeter boards, and stairs, if you didn’t have the Cortex FastenMaster, you’d have to settle for visible fasteners.

The video shows how you can use the Cortex FastenMaster to hide all fasteners, even in those troublesome spots.

The Cortex FastenMaster System is extremely straightforward. It comes with screws, a setting tool, and a plug that’s made from the same material as the decking board.

Using the Cortex screw and setting tool, drive the fastener without pre-drilling. Then set the plug with a hammer. A final, and optional step, is to look away, and then look back again and see if you can find it.

It practically disappears.

This, of course, is exactly what you want—a completely smooth, fastener-free deck surface that looks great.

Be sure to check out the video. When you’re confident you can handle this project, the DIY Home Center has you covered—we have both the TigerClaw TC-G and Cortex FastenMaster available now. Use our decking color cross-reference to find the perfect color match for your deck.

Well, OK, maybe you’re not as excited as we are.

But we think that exclamation point is well-deserved because Screw Products and Trex are both high quality deck products that are great to work with–and they produce beautiful looking decks.

Camout, that frustrating sensation of a screwdriver slipping out of the screw head (yeah, you know what we’re talking about), is a thing of the past with Screw Products screws. These screws bite into the material, driving easily while preventing mushrooming.

And Trex is the country’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking, railing and fencing products. They have a well-deserved reputation of providing quality deck products that never crack, rot, or splinter.

So, when you combine these two products, you’re likely to end up with a beautiful deck that’s perfect for a quiet night of conversation and wine or a boisterous gathering with your family and friends.

We don’t stock Trex decking, but we’re definitely the place to go to for the C-Deck screws! If you are looking for screws for Trex decking, we have them in stock now at DIY Home Center.

DIY Home Center Donates to DiaperLove

Last year, thanks to you and Purely Products, every time you bought Purely UV Bulbs, we donated 12 diapers to diaperLove. We donated over 12,500 diapers! That meant that children in need, who sometimes spend days in a soiled diaper, were able to get changed more often—and be more comfortable.

Helping people—especially babies and children—feels great, and we want to do it again! In fact, we’ve already started. With the help of you and Purely Products, we’ve donated over 1,800 diapers so far this year.

We’ve made it incredibly easy to help. All you need to do is buy Purely UV’s 100% quartz UV germicidal replacements bulbs for air, water and pond filters and sterilizers and we donate a dozen diapers to diaperLove—automatically.

It doesn’t cost you anything extra—no extra time, no extra money, no extra clicks. Just stock up on your Purely UV’s and we’ll do the rest.

Unlike food and medicine, not many organizations are helping to make sure children have clean diapers. Yet, when children aren’t able to get a fresh diaper, serious emotional stress and health problems can develop.

That’s why we think it’s really great what diaperLove, Purely Products, and you are helping accomplish.

Remember, all you need to do is buy Purely UV’s from DIY Home Center and we do the rest. If you’re looking for a way to get the good feeling of giving back, it doesn’t get any easier than this!

Last year we donated 13,104 diapers. Can you help us do more this year?
