Hatteras Hammocks

Protect your hammock from extreme weather

Exposure to the elements will shorten your hammock’s lifespan. That’s why we recommend you bring the hammock indoors during winter months and whenever weather is bad. It’s also a good idea to bring your hammock inside if you won’t be using it for a period of time — for example, when you go on vacation.

Cleaning Your Hammock

• Soak your cotton rope hammock in mild soapy water and hang it or lay it flat to dry. Avoid soaking the spreader bars.

• Wash your polyester rope hammock in mild soapy water or a solution of one part bleach to four parts soapy water. Don’t let the spreader bars rest in the water.

• Wash your DuraCord fabric or rope hammock briskly with mild soapy water. Since DuraCord doesn’t absorb water, soaking isn’t necessary. We also suggest rubbing the ropes of the DuraCord rope hammock together.

• Wash your quilted fabric hammock gently using a scrub brush dipped in a mild solution of soap and water. Hose the hammock completely and let it air dry. You may also use a spot remover on problem areas.

First, a little history…

Last year, Trex introduced the Hideaway hidden deck fastener for Trex pre-grooved decking. Created from stainless steel, the fastener was very popular with deck builders.

This year Trex has introduced another Hideaway fastener for their pre-grooved decking. Created with hardened plastic we expect this fastener to be popular as well.
