Screw Products Inc. Screws Eliminate Common DIY Headaches

Here’s a tip for your next DIY project that involves screws: Use Screw Products star drive screws that virtually eliminate all of the common frustrations with using other screws.

Have you ever experienced any of the following?

  • Screws that “walk” when you screw them in so that they’re not in the right place
  • Screw heads that strip so you have to press extremely hard—or grab a pliers and try to twist it out
  • Always having to pre-drill holes (sure, you’ll still have to pre-drill sometimes, but much less than you would with an ordinary screw)

Star Drive Screws
Maybe you thought these were just inevitabilities of home improvement work. But they’re not.

Screws made by Screw Products bite into the material with less effort so you don’t have to be a bodybuilder to apply enough pressure to get the screw in. They feature Star Drive recess which can handle twice the torque as a Phillips or Square drive—no more stripping screws, or having the screwdriver slip off the screw (camout).

Screw Products screws have deep, wide threads that help the screw cut cleanly, which reduces splitting, cracking, and mushrooming.

Basically, all the problems you’ve had with traditional screws are eliminated with Screw Products. Also, if you’re thinking you’ll have to get a bit for the screws, forget it.

When you buy a 1lb., 5lb., or bulk jar of screws, not only do you get long-lasting, premium quality screws—you also get a free bit. Just open the jar and you’re ready to go.

Screw Products include cabinet screws, construction lag screws, finish screws, standard exterior screws, trim head screws, extra-long screws, heavy duty screws, multipurpose screws, pocket screws (compatible with Kreg Jig screws), composite decking screws, stainless steel deck screws, plus fascia and fencing screws. In addition, Screw Products include driver bits, bit holders, cement board screws, gutter screws, The Deck Clip, DeckLok, Reamer Tek Screws, Tapcon Screws and assorted screw kits.

Practically any project can benefit from Screw Products screws. That’s why we’re happy to stock Screw Products at DIY Home Center.  If you have any questions, call us at 888-349-4660 or leave a comment below.

This is a great read! Thank you DIY for supporting such a great line!

These screws are really great. I don’t have to worry about predrilling and they countersink themselves. Saving tons of time.

I like these screws. They do indeed have all the features I want in a screw. One thing that I’m curious about is this: The point on these screws is called Type 17. Where can I find an explanation of other types and their purposes? Assuming there are at least 16 others….

As far as I can tell, wood screws are not exactly categorized 1 through 16. The most popular types of screws are 1, 17, 23 and 25. Type 1 point is a thread cutting screw with single flute for general use. Type 17 is a thread cutting screw for wood. It has course tapping screw threads with a special long, sharp point that is fluted to capture chips. The #17 point is common with Screw Products screws. Type 23 is also a thread cutting screw that has fine threads. The #23 screws offer maximum thread cutting area and excellent chip clearing, with minimum tightening torques. #25 screws are similar to #23 point except with coarse Type B thread. The #25 screw is useful for plastics and soft materials.

Their C-Deck Composite Deck screws are by far the BEST screws for TREX or any other composite decking material. The Bronze Star screws are the best for any every day exterior/ACQ use. LOVE them. Another use that we have found for the Bronze Star screw, is in Hardie Backer cement board. The screws that are manufactured for use in Hardie Backer (under layment for tile) are bulky, very hard to start, and always stop short and then strip when you try to set them……I hate using them. I have found that the Bronze Star screws work great for this application! They are exterior rated, start way easier and drive quickly and easily. Love the products this company produces, although the prices are a little tough. Would love to see the prices a bit more competitive. These are products that I would use for every application, if they were a little easier on the pocket book. For now, any special use or difficult application, they are the best and worth some extra (but I make sure I pick up the drops and don’t leave any behind!)
