DuPont Tyvek continues to set the highest standards in the roofing underlayment industry. In their quest to continually provide high-quality products to their customers, they have recently introduced the Protec family of products.

Using innovative materials, DuPont Tyvek Protec brings a combination of efficiency and protection while maintaining durability and long-lasting weatherization. So, you can be confident the job is done right.

A unique feature that sets Protec apart from the rest is its embossed pattern, which allows for better traction and grip while walking on your roof. Check out this video to see how DuPont Tyvek has considered both the quality of its Protec products as well as the safety of those who are installing it.

To further appeal to the needs of its customers, the Protec line offers three levels of roof liner to choose from.  All Protec products guarantee lightweight durability, a wrinkle-free surface for smoother installation, and excellent moisture protection. From a more moderate price point to premium grade, choose a Protec line to suit your needs. While Protec is great for any roof type, the 160 and 200 series are designed with heavy tile and slate roofs in mind.

Hi, I am putting a roof over a non enclosed deck. Is Protec 120 comparable with polycarbonate corrugated roofing? Do you have recommendations for using Protec with this type of roofing installation? Thank you, Jerry

John L. replied:

Hi Jerry - Yes, you can use Protec 120 under polycarbonate corrugated roofing. Protec 120 has a 30-year warranty and can be exposed to UV up to 90 days. So, you would want to cover it with the corrugated roof before 90 days. The exception: Do not use P120 under a *clear* corrugated polycarbonate as the UV exposure would go beyond 90 days. Good luck with your project!

Which product is better for insulation, 120 or 200?

John L. replied:

Tyvek Protec 200 has higher resistance to air and water vapor, providing improved insulation properties. It's also thicker and more durable, so it's well-suited for use in harsh weather conditions and long-term projects. The choice between the two ultimately depends on the specific needs and requirements of your project.
